0621809 -- Part 1 - the Genesis

Creation and Fall - Part 1: "The Genesis" - Genesis 1 - 4
The Story of the Bible begins with God making everything that exists. He creates, from nothing, all that we know as the cosmos. We want to know how and when God did this so we read on to discover a six-day account of the creation process. And then, very often, questions about "six days" distract us and we miss the big revelation of Genesis 1.

The six days of creation generate debate because we know that the universe and earth are billions of years old. How does evolution fit into this account? This Sunday we will look at Genesis 1 and not only consider the six days, but also focus on the big revelation that begins the Story of the Bible.

Part 2 - "Transformed Life of the Adopted" - Ephesians 1:3-14
We continue with our look at the topic of adoption as it occurs in Scripture. Adoption, what does this have to do with God and the Bible? Great question! It is amazing if you sit back and think about it for a couple of moments.

Moses was adopted by Pharaoh's daughter and raised by her until manhood, only later in life being reconnected with his brother and sister. Jesus was also raised by an adopted father. Furthermore, in the New Testament, the author Paul wrote that we are members of God's family, literally that we are adopted into his family as sons and daughters.

This week we will take a look into Ephesians and see how we can understand our relationship with the Lord in light of his adoption of us into his family.

Men’s Breakfast

This Morning’s Scripture
Acts 2:42-47

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Part 7: "What Have We Learned and What Must We Do?"

What a marvelous journey together through this campaign! We have seen our people getting plugged into our community in a variety of ways. They have plugged into our church by joining it. They have plugged into fellowship by being part of a small group. They have plugged into service by committing time and effort to a ministry. And they have plugged into missions by trying outreach! What a joy it is to experience The Purpose Driven Life together.
